Associação Diocesana das Artes Performativas e Culturais de Macau (ADAPEC) hopes to collect the voices of contemporary adolescents anonymously and present them through an exhibition. This initiative aims to provide an artistic outlet for suppressed expressions, offering timely relief for emotional and mental struggles, affirming the value of their emotions, and encouraging proactive steps toward improvement.
Simultaneously, it seeks to make educators and society more aware of the mental and emotional well-being of adolescents, highlighting the impact of words and the communication issues they may cause. By setting aside judgment and learning to listen, we can collectively explore how to create a conducive space for dialogue.

Launch of the program
When you’d rather not to talk to someone at times,
When you feel hurt deep down but you don’t have the nerve to speak up at times;
You may believe it ends up speaking useless
But we believe you do think a lot behind the silence.
We sincerely invite you to come over and write down your thoughts and feelings, to help you feel less overwhelmed.
In modern society, adolescents are molded into secular norms and pressure in academic, parents’ expectations, among peers and career uncertainty. Facing various kind of pressure with parents’ failure to understand their children, adolescents may take those as verbal abuse wrongly. They remain silent but feel aggrieved by the “unjust treatment”, so they feel a resentment in relationships. The program aims to let off some stream and relieve mental stress in time, to offer affirmations to overcome resentments proactively. Teachers and the public shall be aware of the adolescents’ mental health conditions, learn how to listen effectively and understand the problems during verbal communications.
After the collection of all the Feeling Cards, they will be displayed in the exhibition:
