Fantasy to Parch-embroiment
10th Anniversary Solo Exhibition
To enhance art diversity and bring along with innovative art form to the public, Ms. Marietta Leung introduced “Parch-embroiment” to the world! Parch-embroiment is a world 1st new created art form by Ms. Marietta Leung in 2013. It is originally combined by two art forms, Parchment craft and Embroidery. To start off as extra-curriculum activities for students normally, Ms. Leung wishes to give Parch-embroiment an extraordinary mission. Encountered by a comment given by visually impaired participant in a seminar, Marietta wishes visually impaired and residual vision person can be able to appreciate her artworks as well.
As “Parch-embroiment” reaches its first decade, Marietta designed a series of 24 artwork theming Dunhuang. They are Flying Apsaras, 12 zodiac guardians in the Mogao Cave, and the other set using beautiful hand-shape with various offerings to express the gratitude. Marietta shares this new series inspired by Dunhuang with the other artworks with symbolic Chinese elements created throughout these past 10 years in CCCN Macau. Besides, Ms. Leung wishes to bring peace to peace and luck to the society via her artwork of “Hundred-character longevity “.
Being touched by Marietta’s passionate in Parch-embroiment, CCCN sincerely collaborate with Marietta to reveal her “light”, dreams and mission to the community. Filled with meaningfulness, valuable, happiness, excitement and challenges, we believe everyone will be cheered up by stories within!

Biography
Marietta Leung
Born in Hong Kong. An experienced teacher (kindergarten, secondary school and adult education) just retired from Arts Director and Music Panel in Secondary School. Being awarded as “Outstanding Arts Teacher (2012/13 & 2015/16)” by Hong Kong Arts Development Council. Being appointed as a Curriculum Development Council (CDC) in Secondary Music in Arts Ed.,H.K. and Chairmlady in Children’s Choir, Hong Kong Music Institute. Being the Founder of “Parch-embroiment” in 2013 and is currently active in creation.

Parch-embroiment Workshop
Introduction to the origin, development, characteristics and the tools of “Parch-embroiment”. Ms. Marietta Leung will share about her journey in the creation of this innovative art form. Participants will be able to experience the process to “Parch-embroiment”.
