“Countless golden threads, surrounded by birds and flowers with breathtaking landscapes in the gleeful sky.” Canton Porcelain once being one of the five manufacturing sectors in Macau, is famed for its full of blissful and the exquisite craftsmanship. During the golden era of Canton Porcelain in the early 20th Century, there were more than 28 active porcelain factories. Manufacturing process of Canton Porcelain is relatively complicated, techniques are delicate and condensed in various cultural features. Macau’s Canton porcelain is export wares fused with both Lingnan and Western style, which were widely exported around the world as in the United States and Europe. Canton porcelain has created significant economic, cultural and historical value at that time. It is a perfect hybrid of Chinese and Western culture. Besides, Macau’s Canton porcelain has played an important role in the legacy and development of traditional Chinese craftsmanship in Macau. However, in compliance with the changes in industrial structure and free trade policy in China, manufacturing of Canton porcelain gradually declined by times.
