



“Weaving with Tradition into Modern Age”: Appreciation and Analysis of Prof. Doming Lam’s Sacred Music
Prof. Doming Lam, born in Macau in 1926. Actively contributed in the music and cultural circle in Hong Kong, is pioneer to lead Hong Kong into the music circle of the world. Prof. Lam is named to be “Father of new HK music”. Being deeply influenced by Catholic religion and music, he composed a variety of sacred music like “Pater Noster”, “Ave Maria”, “Missa Laudis”, and “Gloria”. His signature works are by applying musical terminology of modern age to vitalize every note.
CCCN invites Dr. Viola Yuen, composer and conductor from Hong Kong, to interpret and share Prof. Doming Lam’s exquisite inspiration and methodology.
